Blazingstar Sunset
Iowa
Captured at golden hour just outside Winterset, Iowa, Blazingstar Sunset highlights the vibrant Liatris (blazingstar) blooms lighting up a late-summer field. These tall purple flower spikes stretch across lush grassland, backed by distant trees and a dramatic sky as the sun dips behind the horizon. This image reflects the richness of Iowa's natural heritage - from restored prairies to pollinator-friendly wildflower fields that once covered much of the state. Blazingstar, a favorite among butterflies and hummingbirds, stands tall in this moment of calm before the storm.
