Print care

Fine-art prints are sensitive to light, humidity, and handling, and how a print is displayed and cared for makes a real difference in how it holds up over time. The guidance below is general good practice for any photographic print.

Light. Keep prints out of direct sunlight and away from other strong, prolonged light sources. Direct sun is one of the fastest ways to fade any printed photograph, regardless of paper or ink.

Environment. Display and store prints in a stable environment — moderate room temperature, moderate humidity, and away from bathrooms, kitchens, exterior walls, or anywhere temperature and humidity swing significantly.

Handling. Handle unframed prints by the edges, or wear clean cotton gloves if you need to touch the print surface directly. Skin oils and fingerprints can mark a print's surface over time.

Framing. We recommend professional framing behind UV-protective glazing (glass or acrylic) for any print that will be displayed long-term — it meaningfully slows fading and protects the surface from dust, humidity, and accidental contact.

Mounting. Avoid tape, glue, or other adhesives applied directly to the front or back of a print. If mounting is needed, use archival, photo-safe methods and materials, ideally applied by a framer experienced with fine-art prints.

Cleaning. Never use household glass cleaner or a damp cloth directly on an unframed print. If a framed print needs cleaning, clean only the outside of the glazing, using a dry, soft microfiber cloth.
